Japan Air Gases ties up with Yokohama Chemicals and Watari Shokai to build
a new “state of the art” Filling Center in Keihin

Keihin area, which includes Yokohama and Kawasaki cities in particular, has traditionally been of dynamic industrial developments and recently expanding as an integrated place for high-technology industries, laboratories and academic facilities. In addition Medical facilities are also increasing, aligned with the huge population in this area.
To better answer to the rapidly growing industrial and medical customers’ gas needs in this area, Japan Air Gases, Yokohama Chemicals, and Watari Shokai have decided to jointly invest in a brand-new filling center in Yokohama and operate it through a new Joint Venture in which JAG holds a majority share.
This new facility will integrate the latest Air Liquide filling technologies, safety and quality standards to produce industrial quality gases and mixtures such as “ATAL” for quality welding, high purity specialty gases for laboratories under “ALPHAGAZ” brand as well as medical gases in compliance with the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law and Good manufacturing Practices (GMP).
The location of this new cylinder filling facility in the center of this dense industrial area and proximity to customers will improve significantly the competitiveness, reliability and quality of services that JAG and its partners will be able to offer to each of their customers.
The three companies will closely communicate and cooperate together in order to strengthen their industrial and medical gas sales and market presence in the Keihin area.
The new filling center will start operation in April 2008.
