Launching Nitrogen Gas Generator in Denka Omi
~to continue reliable gas supply for Safety and Efficiency~
[Apr, 22, 2010]

Air Liquide Japan/Japan Air Gases has installed a new nitrogen gas generator at Ōmi Plant of DENKA, a pioneer in carbide chemical productions, and held a ceremony on April 22nd.

The proprietary generator “TCN1500-AR” meets the demand growth of gaseous nitrogen brought by boosting the production of Chloroprene Rubber at DENKA’s Ōmi Plant. TCN series are widely recognized and used as a standard of on-site nitrogen generator in a variety of fields. TCN 1500-AR manufactured by our Air Liquide Engineering Japan is equipped with patented air recycle system which leads to saving the power consumption.

DENKA is one of our long lasting customers since it introduced Air Separation Unit made by Air Liquide for lime nitrogen production at Ōmi Plant in 1922. DENKA has been expanding the businesses to inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, petro-chemical and fine chemical. It now leads the Japanese chemical industry and we have built a long lasting, widely applicable and trusting relationship not only at Ōmi Plant, but also others including DENKA Kojundo Gas (Ōmuta city, Fukuoka prefecture), a joint venture for industrial gas production and DENAL Silane (Itoigawa city, Niigata prefecture) , another joint venture for silane production.

In 1998, we built a large Air Separation Unit at Ōmi Plant and have been supplying oxygen, nitrogen and other gasses to different processes at the site through pipeline. The new TCN is connected to this pipeline network to support the nitrogen supply initiated from the large Air Separation Unit and establish a stronger and more cost efficient supply system.

At the Omi Plant, industrial gases are used for many different purposes, as material of the production, or at different processes. One example among them is to use nitrogen to maintain safe and secure production processes of the plant for its characteristic: inertness, contributing to overall safe operations of the multi-production site.

President Jackow at Air Liquide Japan comments: “As a member of Air Liquide, the world leader in gases for industry, health and environment, our mission is to bring innovation to Japan using the Group’s technology and knowledge. We strive to build long lasting and trusting relationships with our customers by solving environmental and productivity requirements of our customers and by bringing in innovations. I would like to thank DENKA to meet this for its trust in our long lasting relationship. We are more than happy that we have been able to demonstrate our responsiveness and our technology to meet its growth.”
