Air Liquide Japan,
one of the leading companies in industrial gas, jointly with Air
Liquide Kogyo Gas, a subsidiary company focusing on cylinder
business, launched “Cylinder DE Good Cycle” for the promotion of
better cycle of the cylinders (high pressure gas containers)
delivered to the customers.
The project aims to improve the safety by reducing the cylinders
immobilized and neglected at the customers, and contribute to the
environment by promoting the recycle. On top of that, we donate a
part of the revenue from this project to the local society in a way
which relates bicycle, symbol of the project, for the “Good Cycle”
in safety, environment and local society.
As a kick-off event of the event, we paid a visit to the mayor of
Himeji City, and held awarding ceremony, and ran “Eco Class and Eco
Experiment Show using liquefied nitrogen and oxygen” at Hakuro
Elementary School in Himeji. Himeji is also one of our
well-penetrated places with Sales offices and two major gas
production sites including Seitetsu Oxyton, a joint venture with
Nippon Steel. Also, as rental bicycle is well established in Himeji,
the city was chosen to conduct the kickoff event, donating 25
bicycles.

■ About “Cylinder DE
Good Cycle”
Cylinders are used to deliver relatively smaller volume of
gases (oxygen, nitrogen and others) to the customers in
welding, laboratories and many other fields. Some cylinders
are not collected, but neglected. This needs to be improved
not just for reducing the danger of the accidents, but also
leveraging the resources.
We are asking our customers to understand the need to promote
“Cylinder Rental Contract” so we can uplift the safety and
environmental awareness together with our customers. With
these activities, we will cut the unnecessary immobilization
of the cylinders, keep the cylinders in better condition, and
improve safety and usability. We will also contribute to the
environment by reducing the cylinder production. Further, we
will donate a part of the contract charge to the local society
in a way related to bicycle (cycle) now highlighted as an
environmental friendly vehicle.
To start, we will donate 25 bicycles to Himeji City where
rental cycle is well established, and run “Eco Experiment
Show” at Shirasagi Elementary School in Himeji.
