A leading
company for industrial and medical gas business, Air Liquide Japan
Ltd., established Air Liquide Kogyo Gas Ltd., which is specialized
in Cylinder gas business to provide higher quality service and
innovation in the field last March. On the continuation of this
tend, Air Liquide Kogyo Gas and Japan Air Gases Co. of Air Liquide
Japan have jointly launched the “Cylinder DE Good Cycle” campaign to
promote a more efficient cycle of the cylinders delivered to the
customers this January.
Cylinders contain and carry high pressure gases, and are used by
customers in wide rage of fields from welding & cutting, to research
in laboratories. To improve the safety of those cylinders escaped
the collection and neglected, and to make the better use of the
resource, a more desirable safety management and supply chain are
now needed. To illustrate, it is estimated that in Japan a few ten
thousand cylinders stay unreturned more than one year, depending on
the purpose. Air Liquide Kogyo Gas and Air Liquide Japan drive the
smoother cylinder collection and reducing those cylinders
unnecessarily immobilized by raising awareness on this issue and
promoting the “Cylinder Rental Agreement” with the customers using
the cylinder filled gases. This new approach will keep the cylinders
in healthy condition and uplift the safety and user friendliness.
This will help users operate in accordance with High Pressure Gas
Safety Laws in Japan. By this win win approach, overall supply chain
of pressurized industrial gases will be more efficient, requiring
less cylinders and then preserving natural resources required to
manufacture those cylinders.
To illustrate this global benefit to preservation of natural
resources, our project returns a part of the revenue to the local
society in a way related to the green transportation, bicycles, and
looks for broader understanding not only for customers but also
wider society. Mike Tanaka, President of Air Liquide Kogyo Gas
comments: “ The underlying spirit of our “Cylinder DE Good Cycle”
includes “Good for Safety,” “Good for the Customers,” “Good for the
Local Society” and also fits to our company vision, “Challenge Air
Together. In advance we would like to thank our customer, dealers
and partners for joining our efforts to transform the industrial gas
industry of Japan for a better future”
